Telia and Nokia say they are getting ‘5G ready’

Swedish telecoms company and Nokia have announced that they have signed a cooperation agreement to accelerate the network evolution path to 5G. The aim is to secure early introduction of commercial 5G services to Sonera customers by leveraging on both companies advanced network development and Sonera’s deep customer knowledge.

Sonera has reached a 4G population coverage of 97 %. With the advance of technology, and is committed to continue as the forerunner in the next wave of the mobility evolution.

Nokia’s new and expanded portfolio covering mobile, fixed and IP networking will help secure offers Telia Company’s the ideal opportunity to secure early 5G readiness to support its customers, both consumers and enterprises,” said Jan Lindgren, head of Telia Company Business Team for Nokia.

Telia Company has also signed cooperation agreements for 5G development with Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia.
