CEO of Vodafone Group, Vittorio Caloa wins PrimiDieci ‘Italians in UK’ award

The CEO of Vodafone Group, Vittorio Caloa has been presented with the PrimiDieci award, recognising him as one of the most influential and successful Italians working in business in the UK.

He was given the award at a ceremony and dinner on 3rd May 2016 at BAFTA, London.  Colao has been the Group Chief Executive Officer at Vodafone Group PLC and its subsidiary, Vodafone Essar since 2008.

The event is organised annually by PrimiDieci Society – a club that represents the “Most Distinguished Italians Worldwide” and champions their contribution to business and public life. The PrimiDieci Society sais that “the crème de la crème of the international Italian community gathered at BAFTA for the PrimiDieci UK 2016 Awards Gala Dinner.

The black-tie gala event celebrated the ten most successful Italians in the UK today across fields from culture to science, design to business. Other shortlisted candidates this year included: Andrea Ferrari (Cambridge Graphene Centre); Riccardo Zacconi (King Digital Entertainment); Francesco Vanni d’Archirafi (CITI Group); Stefano Pessina and Ornella Barra (Walgreens Boots Alliance); Massimo Tosato (Schroders); Antonio Pappano (Royal Opera House);  Toni Mascolo OBE (Toni & Guy hairdressers); and Simonetta Agnello Hornby (novelist and lawyer).

The event is intended to create a legacy that will educate and inspire the next generation of young leaders today to benefit the global community tomorrow. It provides an excellent opportunity for networking with like-minded individuals and influential organisations and public bodies from the UK and overseas.

Boasting an esteemed guest list, the PrimiDieci UK 2016 Awards Gala Dinner drew a range of international attendees, including the Chairman of the Selection Committee, PQ Terracciano, Italian Ambassador to the UK; Benito Fiore, Chairman of PrimiDieci UK; and PrimiDieci Society Members of the Board of Trustees and International Selection Committee. Also in attendance will be the 10 awardees, representatives of the Italian, British and international business, cultural, celebrity and diplomatic communities.
