Adva demonstrates ‘first’ 32G Fibre Channel transmission over 100km

Field Trial Uses Brocade Gen 6 Fibre Channel Technology and Adva’s FSP 3000 CloudConnect.

Adva Optical Networking (“Adva”) has transmitted 32Gbit/s Fibre Channel over 100km in a joint field trial with Brocade. The industry-first demonstration utilized Brocade X6 directors together with the Adva’s FSP 3000 CloudConnect platform.

The company said that this trial shows the capabilities of Adva’s data center interconnect (DCI) technology to interoperate seamlessly with Brocade’s Gen 6 Fibre Channel products. The joint solution will offer what the partners call “unrivaled value” to enterprise customers, addressing their need for higher speeds in the data center and enabling a smooth transition to flash-based storage solutions.
