Adva Optical Networking achieved the largest quarter-over-quarter market share gain on a rolling four-quarter basis in the data center interconnect market, according to analyst Ovum’s latest global market share report. The telecommunications vendor was also named number one in both the metro ICP/CNP DCI and enterprise DCI categories.

For total sales of metro WDM DCI, Adva’s increase in market share was more than twice as large as its nearest competitor. Ovum’s latest report highlights the success that the company achieved in the DCI space during the third quarter of 2016. Figures included show the compelling customer value of Adva’s DCI technology, including its FSP 3000 CloudConnect solution.

“Our comprehensive understanding of the DCI market has helped us grow faster than anyone else. As the Ovum report shows, we’ve been able to continue that momentum into the third quarter of 2016 with more than 35 new customers deploying our technology,” said Brian Protiva, CEO.

“At the heart of this rapid growth is our unique combination of innovation and customer focus. To create our FSP 3000 solution, we worked closely with ICP and CSP partners. Now, it’s widely recognized as the most scalable, open and energy-efficient DCI platform available. And the recent expansion with the MicroMux, which supports legacy 10 and 40Gbit/s clients with no loss of density or throughput, is a further example of our innovation in the DCI space,” Protiva said.

Driven by growing demand for high-bandwidth video, cloud, and data center services, the global DCI market is projected to expand significantly in the near future. By growing DCI market share, Adva believes it has shown the value of its innovation and the ability of its engineers to meet diverse customer demands in an expanding and evolving market place.

“Adva has had a long history of working in the metro and enterprise DCI markets,” said Ian Redpath, practice leader, components, transport and routing, at Ovum. “By working with and responding to their customer base, they have achieved market share success. The company’s latest focus has been working with the ICP/CNP community on metro DCI and they have recorded a very strong 2016 in that segment.”
